Binary: please tell how compiled !!

Hello ASCII art people,
I've seen several uuencoded binary postings for banner programs and
no indication about what machine the binary will run on (UNIX workstation ?
If so what kind ? SGI, Sun, DEC, IBM, ..., Intel 80x86 ?, MacIntosh ?).
The best I can do is to look at the "magic numbers" if any at the beginning
of the binary.
Suggestions:
1. Please indicate what machine/architecture the binary was compiled.
2. (even better) Make available the source code, esp. if the
source is written in some widely compileable language (e.g.,
ANSI C with no extensions).
Additionally, having the source would allow an interested person
to understand the algorithm generating the art.
Sincerely, Paul Laub
