Thanks, but... having been informed of your JavE font library, I felt
that Georgi16 wasn't worthy of it in its current state.

After I first announced Georgi16, someone reminded me of JavE.
I had known of JavE before, as an ASCII art editor, but it hadn't
occurred to me to try it as a FIGletiser, when I embarked on Georgi16.
Now that I have discovered its ability to render GIFs, it was a simple matter
for me to render some text as a GIF, import that into JavE, and export it
as ASCII art.

Now I know I can make a much better job than I did with Georgi16. I am
at the moment working on an 11-line Georgia, and it'll be rather better.

I may yet go back and redo the 16-line version using JavE. Don't think of
the current Georgi16 as the final one, by any means!

I removed the final "a" of Georgia removed so as to keep
the name 8 characters long. I know JavE doesn't mind names longer than that.
What software would find a longer name inconvenient? If none, then I'll
change my mind and it can be Georgia16. And Georgia11.

No problem, you can update the font at any time. Being in the library,
others are able to find it - and if necessary: edit and improve the font.

Just go ahead - and don't forget to post some sampels here and the fonts
to me :-)

A lot of fonts have been released in a very basic version and updated
later, either for changing characters or for adding others (like
umlauts) for example. Just have a look at some comments in the font
files (e.g. from the FIGlet editor in JavE).

There are others with long names (e.g. nancyj-underlined) and I have not
heard of any problems yet. No modern operating system has problems with
long filenames. So feel free to add the 'a'.

No, don't.
