RE: ASCII fades BY: Dan Martin <ted...@netcom.ca>@32767.FileNet I'm completely new to the ASCII world but i've noticed that some programs (like the dos prompt) support ASCII caracters into the 200's. For example: Go to dos and hold ALT and type in 176 on the key pad and release alt. Why is it that no ASCII chart shows these symbols? Does anyone know of a chart with these symbols? Thanks in advance, That's extended ASCii genraly used in ANSi art. Extended ASCii is frowned on here because of it's ill effects on graphical news readers. I belive anything above ALT-127 is considderd extended. You can find a chart in PCmag (Oct 7, 1997) Page 307 in "User-to-User". ********************************************************************* * The Miller Music BBS - A Christ-Centered BBS - 24 hrs 7 days * * 607-898-3139 24 Hrs. 7 Days LORD,Planets:TEOS,lots of others! * * 28 gigs of Great Files! A chart is there somewhere...
