What's this about a four line limit. Is this a restriction imposed by some servers? News reader programs? I don't seem to have any limits or restrictions of any kind (except 1 meg e-mail and 1-meg home page) and I'm curious about this. Sorry to post without the obasciiart, but I'm not an artist, just a great admirer of all the artists that post here. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Snappy(?) signature file finally under construction Chuck Cartia Boston, PA cha...@nb.net (BTW this is not an actual posting, but merely a test in disguise, so don't read it.) So, why are you wasting you time reading my sig file, anyway?
Those little ones are nice. This is much bigger, but was one of the first
I ever made. Quite simple...

At one time we did quite a lot of collecting data about what various servers did and didn't allow. I used to work at a site where all .signatures under elm were automatically clipped to 4 lines, and e-mails were limited to about 60K. More than 80 characters per line and your image may wrap. ANSI escape codes seem to cause some people no end of trouble (though I have never seen this). VT100-type terminals and emulations only have 24 lines. It also ain't considered netiquette to blast honkin' great .sigs to most people. I don't really see this one, but then I don't read my newsgroups over a modem. However I aree it can look a little egoistical to have a 2-line posting followed by a 40-line stereo portrait. There's nothin magic about 4 lines anymore. If you can send more than 4 lines of .sig then I expect the others can read them. But it is still a good guideline. You can stuff a lot into 4 lines if you try... adBBba. Ba. A ~VgooodB ,B B.
