Okay, this should cheer people up
My first attempt at an ASCII cat:
_/\ /|
_/. \ | |
@ \____________/ /
\__ |
\ \ |
| /_________\__ \
/ / \ \ / / \ \
/_/ \_\ /_/ \_\
Well, okay when I saw that it definitely _wasn't_ a cat, I did alter it
slightly to turn it into a terrier...
Anyway, I _really_ wanted to draw one of our cats, so I tried again:
_____________
.-' `-.
/ \
| | __ |
| | / / > |
\ -._|______| /
`-._________>\___.'
I used parts of the circles in the new FAQ to smooth the curves out a
bit, but I'm still not too happy with the head. I'll work on it. I
really want to draw both of the cats asleep in a box, like they used to
when they were little... I just need to change this pic a bit and put
another one in upside down.
Actually, I've been aware of ASCII art for a long time now, and seen the
odd pic here and there, but it's only since joining this ng (about a
month ago) and seen all of your fantastic artwork that I feel I really
would like to be able to do pics like that. I also like the relaxed,
good-humoured feel here (especially when threads get side tracked onto
calculus [I don't study maths now, but it was always my fav subject at
school:] etc.), and even if I don't ever post very often, I'll enjoy
reading everyone else's posts - there are a few people whose work I like
best, but naming them would probably be unfair to everyone else who does
very good work.
Ooops! I didn't mean to say so much, I hope I haven't bored anyone too
much...
