I hate to stomp on the fun spirit of this thread, but it seems that a fundamental requirement of representational (vs. abstract) ascii art is that the represented image be recognizable by most folks under normal circumstances. To wit: Martin's entry is cute, but I think most folks would not be able to recognize it as a yinyang without the accompanying explanitory text. I'm pretty sure yours would be recognized by most folks who are acquainted with the symbol. I don't disparage Mr. Rundqvist's wish to entertain...just don't concede it's a better "take" on the smallest possible representation of a yinyang! There are many fonts that has trashcans, logos and symbols as characters, but they are some bytes long each (vectorized images).. and can not be called small, sorry //Martin
