Graphic to ASCII Converter?

Graphic to ASCII Converter?

alt.ascii-art · 2 messages · 28 Aug 1996 - 3 Sep 1996
Does anyone know of a program that will convert a graphic such as a photo
image into ASCII text? I know they used to exist, but I have been unable
to locate one.

If you know of a shareware package avaiable on a server somewhere, please
drop me a line. I prefer a Mac package, but I'll take one for Windows.

Thank you in advance.
