Funny word that is.  It means using things where we use things like
the "Scientific Method".  And in that we observe first and then work
out how things function.  The way you phrased that it is that we can
not know how things function until we know the whole layout of the
tree.  Science does not work that way.  First we find out how all the
little parts work together and fit in this gig-saw puzzle of a
universe and then we we put it together exactly because we don't have
that big nice 4 color glossy picture to guide us.  So each piece must
be worked on individually till we figure out the whole thing.  Not the
other way around.
