I think it's pretty OK .. I like the tail and body but the head needs work.

The body and tail are great. Here is what I like using for a cat face.
I'm not sure if its better but its an idea. :)

  At the moment, I like (2) best, although the eyes seem too big,
but in (3) and (5) they end up too high ...
  For (6) (included here to save one followup) I think that the
head is too big for the body (and actually I have a hard time with
seeing a cat head there ... but maybe I just know different cats).
  Oh, and I noticed the claws (and actually, I had that idea before),
but adding them seems to spoil the slight effect of perspective of
the picture, which I want to keep.

  As a side note I've found someone who spontaneously voted for (6) as
the best one ... so I guess this remark reflects my own ignorance.

How about that? The @'s look more like human eyes than cat, but I like the
effect - it now seems to be staring at the 2 on my font (Lucidia console)
although it might work different for others.
