unix bonehead needs help

I'm logging into my unix system from a Mac, and these animations are becoming quite a trauma. Anyone with any suggestions on how to unencode these things? I have to telnet into the unix, if that matters. I'd really appreciate it if someone could provide me a step by step method to deal with these. thanks Drew
