                    THE RUTHERFORD INSTITUTE LAUNCHES
                      INTERNATIONAL GRAPHIC CONTEST
                                     
Charlottesville, Va--In an effort to highlight the growing religious discrimination and
persecution taking place all around the world, The Rutherford Institute is launching an
International Graphic Contest entitled, "Show Your Story to the World."  The contest
seeks to raise awareness of religious persecution internationally and mobilize
individuals, organizations and governments in opposing it.
     "We are deeply concerned about the widespread ignorance and apathy
concerning the plight of persecuted Christians and other religious people around the
world," said John W. Whitehead, president of The Rutherford Institute.  "As their stories
depicted graphically, confront us all, we hope that people will be moved to action to take
a stand for those who are being persecuted for their faith."
     Accepted mediums include charcoal sketch, pen and ink drawing, acrylic, pastel,
watercolor, oil, pencil sketch, pen, mixed media, color pencils, gouache, photography
and collage.  $750 First Prize.  No entry fee.  Juried.  Possible exhibit in Washington,
D.C. and London as well as publication.  Deadline April 15, 1997.  For a prospectus in
