16 Bit animation

I've been using the Microsoft Image composer to create images and I suspect that the Microsoft Image Composer manipulated colors are only suported by 32 bit machine. I have the opportunity to view some of my images on 16 or 8 bit machines and the colors were terrible. Does anyone have any suggestion? Do you know of a 16 bit image composer? What color numbers are supported with 16 bit machines? Here is my animation example: http://www2.awinc.com/users/mgagne/project/778.gif
