I have found this

There is an application called Text Art Converter. It converts from not proportional font arts to ASCII Art. I want to ask: Do you
know anything better for such conversion?

remember Marcus was working on a 'fixing' routine to correct
certain types of picture damage such as line-wrapping altho'
with any converter i wouldn't expect the results to look too
much or exactly like the original proportional-font picture

JAVE works only on ASCII Arts (not proportional) and no conversion option there...
