Monotype Fonts

Hey, add 'Andale Mono' to the monospaced fonr list.
I just formatted my system (and forgot to back up my 635 fonts!!), so I'm
off getting them again...

On the MS web site, under fonts ..
http://www.microsoft.com/truetype/fontpack/win.htm .. Monotype.com is now
called Andale Mono.
(Monotype.com was v1.10 of the font; Andale Mono is 1.25, perhaps they fixed
that color issue?)

I'm not sure if it improved the colors or not, but they did change the
zeros so now they have a dot in the middle of them.  Before the uppercase
"O" as in Olive, and the Zero "0" looked exactly the same.  Hmmm.  If the
colors ARE fixed, it might make monotype a good selection with the special
zero... gives us another character to play with. :)

I'm taking a guess here, but I have a feeling it has to do with different
spaces being used.
The spaces between same-color character are probably a standard space, while
those with a color command are two spaces, or another space - either way its
the fault of HTML.
Browsers are supposed to collapse multiple spaces to single, which browsers
do. 'x  x <b> x' therefore becomes 'x x <b>x'. Perhaps, because of the font
definition, a space cut down from a code gets a DIFFERENT character
definition than a regular space, and that character is slightly larger than
it should be?

Except that Courier New comes off without a hitch.  I checked a colored
ASCII art web page and with Andale Mono, the text was misaligned.  But when
I switched to Courier New, it was absolutely perfect. :\

Possibly.  I mean, it would have the same ASCII code, of course, but it's
also not a full space.  Applying color to a single character throws
everything to the right out about a pixel or two.  Coloring 8-10 characters
as I did in the example throws it out a full character and slightly more.
