A question about websites with ascii pictures

Hi all,
I'm searching for a good software to publish
ascii pictures in HTML.The problem is that multiple
spaces are replaced by a single space in Dreamweaver,
so I have to manually add the HTML code of the space
character.
Thanks for any suggestion.

The easiest way is to download Jave (www.jave.de) which could generate HTML code
and otherwise very nice program, or you could use <pre> </pre> tag for
"preformatted" (which means not formatted at all :)) text and replace some
symbols with their ascii codes (I don't remember which ones should be replaced).

The only ones you need to replace are "&" --> "&amp;" and then "<" -->
"&lt;". For symmetry, you can also replace ">" --> "&gt;", but it's not
required.

 There are lots of ascii web-sites; there was (probably still is)
 a web-ring of them.  We use <pre>... </pre> with no problem.

 Dare I suggest, get rid of Dreamweaver?
 Or at least, manually code those .htm files which are actually
 pictures and use Dreamweaver to make frontpages, indexes, etc.

I found that in Dreamweaver there is an option
to insert preformatted lines, thanks

You can paste the code into <pre></pre> tags in Dreamweaver with no
problem at all - I've done it.
