Please someone send me the jpg->ascii converter or send it to the
newsgroup.

Yes send it to the newsgroup, because I've been looking for one too.

I know only of 3 ascii converters - for BMP's or GIF's. Though to use
them for JPG's just download a graphic program like Lview (do a search
on yahoo) and save the JPG as a BMP or GIF.

Here are the 3 that I know of:

CHARAC Version 2.0 239 kb
http://www.connect.usq.edu.au/students/q9523004/charac21.exe
Converts BMPs to ascii, for WINDOWS. I forget the page where I
found
this ... so I have linked it to my page. Although there seem to be
a few bugs, (written for another language or somethin), this is
my one of choice.

Ascii Art Generator Version 1.0 110 kb
http://www.connect.usq.edu.au/students/q9523004/asciiart.zip
Converts BMPSs to ascii, for WINDOWS. I don't know where I got this
program
from either. The only problem with this program is the ascii art it
creates is
     enormous!

Alberty Pascal's ASCII Page
http://www.info.fundp.ac.be/~pal/ascii.html
Converts GIFs to ascii, for DOS

Regards,
J

BTW: I did that Kanga below around 2 years ago and it's 'bout the only
ascii art I've done by hand. Seeing as I'm posting to an ascii group...
can anyone make it better? :)
'Preciated.

The answer is in one of the following URLs, and it does not work on
the Macintosh (#$*@). At least one of the following no longer exists,
and one is irrelivant. Only, I can't remember which and I can't
remember where I found these, only that they were in a single file on
this newsgroup.

um.. my apologies. that link apparently does contain mostly macintosh
software.
