Well, it's that time again!
You may recall that last year I started an advent calendar in which I posted
a picture for each day of December leading up to Christmas, and I recieved
many, many great contributions of ASCII Art, some interspersed with poetry
and messages as well as birthdays (and I still have most of those birthdays
on file, so I can wish you a happy birthday again this year!)
For those that missed it, have a bad memory, or just want to have another
look at the great art, this was the final compilation that I posted on

Last year, I had the idea on the spur of the moment, so my system had a few
teething problems and I changed the arrangements half way though (*grin*)...
but this year I've got the system sorted properly, and I'm going to make
sure there are no days missing before posting them this year!!! :o)
So, the new better organised system is as follows:

and *not* posted to the group. It would be best if the art was a new pic,
rather than one from last year or another pic that's been floating around
for a while, because it makes the Advent Calendar more interesting. If you
have a day you'd prefer to be on, then you should let me know in your email
and I'll try to accomodate you, but allotting days on a first-come
first-served basis. I'll post updates every now and then of what dates are
still left to be filled. It would be nice to get as many people as possible
in the calendar lineup, so like last year I'd like to request only one
picture per person at first, to get as many people as possible into the 24
days we have. After a while, once everyone has had a fair chance to get a
day, anyone who wishes to contribute more pics is welcome, to fill out all
of the days :o)
Every day in December up until the 24th, I will post an Advent Calendar pic,
and then on Christmas day I'll post a picture compilation again.
I hope this year's advent calendar can be as successful as last years, and
we can see some equally impressive art.
I suppose I'd better get making a new Christmas pic, hadn't I? :o)
In addition, I thought it might be nice to have another special picture
collection to celebrate the end of the millenium and the start of the new
one :o)
If you would like to make up one or more new pics, perhaps of what you
imagine life might be like in the future, or something else new-millenium
related, feel free to send that to me too, and I'll post what I get on new
year's day. I can't actually post it at midnight, though I'd like to,
because my computer has to be off for the rollover :o)
