I think most people here already have their best pictures on the web, on their own homepages: http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/2695/links.htm > Thanks to anyone who contributes one (on this group). 1. Do your own digging (see URL above) 2. Make your own pictures (much more interesting with original material on a site) 3. Try some simple things: 1. A house 2. A train 3. A stick man Basically, with ascii art, if you can make a picture look enough like what it's supposed to look like that other people can see what it is it's good. :) > > 3. It can catch all the spam for you and if the flood gets too bad you can just dump it and get a new one. It's sometimes practical to be able to reach people outside of the newsgroup. You are denying your audience that possibility. -- (, http://www.ludd.luth.se/~vk/cgi/asciichat/ /|__--__ . __--__ |\ '__ /|\ _{ _ `.' / `.,_ _________ | _________ _,.' (/ `. / ||``._.' Drawing ascii pictures is easy. First you make make yourself a lot
of whitespace room:
Then you draw the closest thing to an oval of 6x4 characters into
that. (It doesn't look like an oval at the font I'm using, but bear
with me!)
__
/ \
( )
\__/
Now you draw yourself sitting in an office chair while holding the
ovaloid shape:
__
('__`>____ ____________
//6(6' __(\\ ____/ \
':_-/,' / \ `-_ See? |
/_/\ ( ) | It's easy! |
|( ) \\ \__/ \____________/
[|\ `. _\_,(//
||`. " _,-'
\`\.--'"`-.
\,`.___. \
|______`. \
||==I\\ \
__||__ \\_\__
---o--o---o--\\_,-'---ool
My apologies to the creator of "The Tick," whatever his name is, whom
I stole that joke from.

If you have a hotmail or even an AOL account the spam is even worse without Usenet activities than mine with Usenet activities. Take for instance GMX. It has very good SPAM-Filters and if there is a guy, which annoys you with spam anyway, you can report it and they will set up an Global filter (of couse you can filter for your own too ;). At the beginning I thougt, that I'll get flooded by SPAM when I post (bad experience with AOL *yuck*, but thats pass). And now? After 6 Months as Reguler in several groups, I find about 2 or 3 SPAM-Mail per week in my Mailbox. And this really isn't a problem. Tom, Just take a stab at something. The people here are quite mature and will give you advice on your first pictures anyhow.
