ASCII art for nickelodeon

Hello from Nickelodeon--I am looking to create ASCII art from a line
drawing that I have for a character. I don't want to use a conversion
program, because I want "true ASCII art" so that letterforms are chosen
thoughtfully. Can anyone recommend how to do this or recommend an
artist who would be able to do this?

If you check the ASCII art FAQ (posted here or googleable) you will
see some suggestions on how to do a drawing from an existing source
with no prior experiance.  

Someone else may be able to do it for you if that doesn't work.

When I make ascii-art conversions from linedrawings , sketches or vectorart ,
I actually "cheat" by first using JavE ( http://www.jave.de ) to convert the
image to ascii-art , usually with the B/W algorithm and the lines or
thick&thin style as these do a great job of converting lineart.

Then I overlay the original image onto the canvas with the watermark tool.

Using that as a guide I then proceed to edit all the lines in the conversion,
until nothing of the original conversion is left and every character is done
by "hand"

It's this final editing that turns a mere converted image into a beautifully
typed ascii-art.
