The Celsius 40^ is opposite where 104^ Fahrenheit would be.
similarly 30^ is opposite where 86^ Fahrenheit would be.
25^ is opposite 77^
20^ is opposite 68^
15^ is opposite 59^
10^ is opposite 50^....the only exact match
5^ is opposite 41^
0^ is opposite 32^....water freezes
-5^ is opposite 23^
-10^ is opposite 14^
-15^ is opposite 5^
-20^ is opposite -4^....quite uncomfortable
-25^ is opposite -13^....very uncomfortable

Mathematical conversion of Celsius and Fahrenheit degrees. One degree Celsius = 5/9 degree Fahrenheit. Temperature of 0^ Celsius = 32^ Fahrenheit. Our ASCII scale can show the temperature of 10^ Celsius = 50^ Fahrenheit exactly across from each other. But the other round number temperatures in the usual weather range are the equivalent of a number other than a multiple of five, so the -- marks showing degree in multiples of five can't line up across from each other. Ok? Anyway, 10 degrees and 50 degrees are exact tot he degree. All the others are off by a degree or two degrees or even a .567 plus or minus. Ok? Well boiling temp and absolute zero might be an exact match tho. When Donald made the first temp chart he didn't list boiling and absolute zero, I don't think, so he was right in 10 = 50 exactly. No decimal errors. The rest of the chart is simplified to save space and to help people to maybe memorize some conversions. Both 212/100 and -40/-40 are exact (not to mention an infinity of other temperatures that never occur in nature around my neck of the woods), so I was confused about the particular reference to 10/50. For reasons beyond my ken, it didn't occur to me that it was an observation only in connection to the numbers displayed in the drawing. I admit it should have been obvious, but...
