In the menubar, click "Tools => Options" an click the tab "Reading". Click the
"Fonts" button and assign Courier New as the proportional font.

That should do it.

I am using IE4 and Outlook Express. When I try to view ASCII
messages, the ASCII is all messed up due to my (non-proportional)
font. When I click on VIEW, my only font options are the size
of the font.

When go to [Control Panel/Internet/Fonts] and try to make the
Fixed-Width font to be my Internet font (so I can create and
view ASCIIs better) and no matter how I rearrange the Character
Sets or fonts, I still wind up with proportional fonts.
(There is no APPLY button for this screen).

Thanks in advance, Ray Haglund

Don't use Outlook Express?
