Well, Beast Wars is TF.

Did you read the original comics or the cartoon series?

The ngs are alive and well. To date:

Me either! Look in your television guide for something called "Beast
Wars", it is Transformers (second generation) in "3-d" computer graphics. It's
pretty cool, they reference Megatron and the other leader every once in a
while. It's on here in New Jersey on Sunday mornings and early weekdays. It was
a nice surprise to find out it was a Transformers spin-off. There is a computer
game of the same name "Beast Wars" (3-d first perspective shooter). I wish I
had some ASCII of this stuff, but I'm just yentaing my mouth off. :)

When I was *very* young (ie 5 or 6 years old) the Transformers were on TV in
England... and all I can remember is a little toy I had and the
'Transformers: Robots in Disguise' thing in a robotic type voice :o)
(I`ll have to see if I can dig out a transformers toy from my brother's toy
box... he has all of my old toys somewhere!)

The TV series was OK. I heard a *rumour* that the comic is starting again
which IMHO I thought was a lot better. The TV series had a few big problems,
BTW when it was made it was good for the time and it got me interested in
Transformers and anime.

It was the toys that started everything off in the first place and they
were cool (he says, the proud owner of a Powermaster Optimus Prime :^) ).

The comic restarted a couple of years ago. I managed to read the first
two issues and thought it might be interesting. I never saw any other
issues...

Many of the comments made by the editors said that they had enormous
trouble with the toy company that created the idea. (In the first
incarnation of the comic.)

I never saw them, and didn't know they existed untill a couple of years ago.

Hmm, I don't know. I think it was just due to lack of sales compared to
the original that killed it off, but I'm not too sure.

Umm, let me rephrase that. The editors claimed they had trouble writing
the original comic because the toy company kept trying to interfer.

It is entirely possible that lack of sales stopped the second edition.

Ah but BEASTIES (aka Beast Wars) is awesome, but I guess only us Canadians
would know about it (and the awesome Reboot, and Shadow Raiders, which
although not Transformers related are AMAZING computer generated series...),
since it (they) only show on YTV, which is only available via cable service
in Canada (not even with a 'dish of any kind can you get it...) Well, okay,
so Reboot was showing for a little while on Showcase, but hey, thats
Canada-based too. :)

Yours are in a toy box? I'd have to dig my brother's out of the ground. When
my little brother got tired of his toys, he'd try to burn them, and then
bury them in the back yard...

I saw Beast Wars once, but I've never heard of Reboot. (this is in the US by

Both Reboot and Beast Wars have been shown in Australia,
hmmm I wonder if our TV networks are part of this
Canadian conspiracy!

Well, they indirectly interferred by releasing all the 'x'Masters, which
started getting *really* silly at the end og G1. I didn't realise that they
tried to directly affect the plot, as it could break the law.

Reboot was the first ever cartoon series completely made by computer. It is
based on the 'lives' of characters inside a computer and has many jokes for
the non-computer and computer user. There are three series, one and two
were more aimed at the children level since the main buyer was ABC and that
was the market they wanted Reboot for. Series three is far better and is
aimed more towards early teenager right through to adult (one programme has
floating blood, a la Star Trek VI, which ITV refuse to show) and has a more
subtle humour which goes into parody of topics like James Bond, Mars
Attacks, and many others.

We did get Reboot in the US for a while on one of the networks. I
remember watching it on Saturday mornings, but I can't remember which
channel.
