Software

i'm sure this has been asked b4, but i can't seem to find the answer.
is there any software out there that will create ascii for me.

eg if I have a GIF or JPG of let's say a logo - can the software create
the ascii drawing automatically???

I'm looking for software (free, if possible), to produce ASCII-Art.
Like writing some text, drawing circles, squares or lines, or drawing
freehand, etc.

I would also be interested in the following: I want to import some
graphics file (bmp, jpg, gif...) and save it as ASCII-Art.

Do you know of any?

Sounds like JavE. It's a free (beer) Java application which supports all of
this and more. You can download it from http://www.jave.de/

Downloaded and installed it - but can't use it - it crashes my WinXP
Notebook completely :-((

Have you installed a recent version of sun's Java Runtime Environment?
The combination notebook-WinXP-JavE works fine here.

used it with satisfaction.

They may do what you are looking for.
