Would any one kind enough introduce the ways to create ASCII pictures
for begigners, such as:
softwares, where to get them;
in IBM, MAC, VAX or UNIX;
help document.....

... i know this doesn't sound very constructive, but: Grab your favorite text 
editor and a table of the ascii character set. And have _MUCH_ time! Why this 
is my advice? Well, i think "learning by doing" is the best one can do. If you 
practised enough then you'll know and understand on how to use tools.
