hey, Lone Weirdo , i was wondering if you could free some space up cuz i want to upload stuff and i cant download anything right now. If it is a big problem then just forget it, i just want to get credits. Thanx
Got a question, for anyone here who knows anything
about Judaism. A couple of q's actually. :-)
I'm planning on eventually having a multi-faith religion
page on my web site, but I need to know if the things I put
there are suitable. Fot example, if i'm doing ascii for the
muslim festival of Eid, I shouldn't use representations of
people or animals.
so, these are what I have so far on Judaism. Q.1 - are they
innoffensive and correct-ish? 2 - is the scroll thing the Torah
or the talmud? 3- how do you spell barmitzvah? :-) Hope someone
here knows the answers. :-)

is there a program to convert bmp, gif, and/or jpg to ascii???
I was just wondering, am I aloud to take the pictures for my own use, ie putting in my sig. or sending to a friend or is that classed as stealing it? can let me know if he doesn't like my change ... until then that is the

Sounds good to me -- I thought Krogg's levels were quite clever, and I'd already archived his post for use when revising the FAQ later. One point though Martin, and that is that your revision should be version 2.0.2.m1, not 2.0m, because the current version of the FAQ (http://cantua.canterbury.ac.nz/~mpt26/art/ascii/faq/faq.txt) is 2.0.2. I'm (mainly) in lurk mode at the moment, 'coz I'm actually trying to get some good marks at university this year (!), so I don't have much time for character-twiddling. :-( But hopefully some time in the next few weeks I'll get around to producing version 3.0 of the FAQ -- making it a lot shorter and more readable, removing the broken links, and putting it under the Open Content License (http://www.opencontent.org/opl.shtml). That all sound ok by everybody? Thanks Martin for taking up where our dear departed Colin left off, regularly posting the FAQ and assorted other documents -- as I have mentioned before, it's something I would do except that I am often away from the Net for extended periods of time. Oh, and one last thing. I can't *believe* that a.a-a is actually holding a vote on what the correct verb is for creating ASCII art ... as long as it's understandable, why not let anyone use any word they damn well like??? ttfn -- mpt Read my columns in NewsRoom -- http://www.newsroom.co.nz/ Protect your privacy, boycott Intel -- http://www.bigbrotherinside.org/

|Sounds good to me -- I thought Krogg's levels were quite clever, and I'd
|already archived his post for use when revising the FAQ later. One point
|though Martin, and that is that your revision should be version
|2.0.2.m1, not 2.0m, because the current version of the FAQ

'----------------------------------
Oh, Hello Matthew :o)
The version of the FAQ i've been posting was 2.0, so that was what I
revised. If you could email me (addy in sig) the latest version, that would
be good, since I don't very often have time to use the web (I usually just
check me email and grab all of the new newsgroup messages for offline
reading). I could then post that, possibly as 2.0.1.m1 or without the levels
thing if you prefer.

|I'm (mainly) in lurk mode at the moment, 'coz I'm actually trying to get
|some good marks at university this year (!), so I don't have much time

'----------------------------------
Hehehe... I've been doing the same thing with my school work... which is why
my pics have been a bit thin on the ground lately.
.----------------------------------

|producing version 3.0 of the FAQ -- making it a lot shorter and more

'----------------------------------
I'll try to take a peek at that when I'm next online... but if it is as the
name suggests then that seems OK to me.
.----------------------------------
|Thanks Martin for taking up where our dear departed Colin left off,
|regularly posting the FAQ and assorted other documents -- as I have

'----------------------------------
Well, they needed posting -- since I was already posting quite a few other
documents a few more couldn't hurt.
The ones that Colin used to post I have now ceased to post weekly, since it
was getting a bit excessive. I will try to post them monthly but my
automation script that automatically feeds the FAQs into Free Agent can't do
that automatically. (yet!)
.----------------------------------
|Oh, and one last thing. I can't *believe* that a.a-a is actually holding
|a vote on what the correct verb is for creating ASCII art ... as long as
|it's understandable, why not let anyone use any word they damn well like???
'----------------------------------
As far as I was concerned, it was just for fun --- I hope noone is taking
the vote too seriously?
