Re: Names of ASCII Symbols

Re: Names of ASCII Symbols

Alternative names/usage for some punctuation combinations:
Many of these came from C/BASIC, and have found their way into
normal english emails.

chr  Name                         Example

!= Not equal where != wear
==   Equal, comparrision.         soinso == hitler,  soinso2 == devil?
>    Greater than                 6 > 2 (duh!  :-)
<    Less than                    4 < 6 (duh!  :-)
>=   Greater than or equal to     9 >= 4, 6 >= 6
<=   Less than or equal to        3 <= 4, 5 <= 5
|    Or                           Get a (book | clue | brain).

*    Multiplication, footnote     64 * 32 = 2048,  Based on ThisThing*
/    Division, fraction bar       131072/262144=1/2,  8/4=2
/    OR list, seperator           Get a (book/clue/brain), go up/down

~=   Approx. equal                1/3 ~= .33
_ underscore, underline _DO NOT_ press this button!

This list goes on for miles, but there are the ones I see being used
in non-programming conversations.
