Re: making updates...

Re: making updates...

: Why bother attaching the page when you have posted the URL?

Because OE did it by itself .. and I thought "well its only 100 byte or so ..
leave it .."

: Sadly, the anti-popup page that you directed me to has an outmoded
: "legal" fix for getting rid of GeoPopups. The Geoguide is no longer in
: use at GeoCities. I refuse to use the illegal method of eliminating the
: pops. I would rather not support the company at all. Hence my move from
: Geocities.

I have a domain rerouter at http://CeeJay.findhere.com and to be able to use
that I have to put a banner on my index page.
I do that .. only I do it in the noframes section - Now findhere.com works by
putting the user in a frameset that directs the browser to my page .. so any
user of findhere.com must be using frames and therefore never sees the banner
... I don't see that as breaking the rules .. rather bending them.

: I'm pretty happy with Crosswinds, thanks. I also have a page at
: Angelfire and really like their policy of requiring a single banner (or
: popup) on the index page and no other advertisements. Their only failing
: is that one can only upload one file at a time (even if FTPing.

It's great you're happy with it - As long as you're happy with it there is no
need to change is there?..

I myself have gone through a number of free services to get to where i am
today...:

nettrash.com - free , absolutely no ads or banners to display, good speed , bad
name (nettrash ... i'm mean .. how can people take you seriously?)

wiktor.dk - free, fast , no ads/banners , php3 , pop3 , danes only .. I would
have stayed there if i had'nt found :

marmoset.net - free, medium speed, no ads/banners , pop3 , shellaccount with CGI
(which i really needed) - Now i can finally start programming CGI's again and do
some serious programming.

CeeJay
