No, it's just common sense. It makes sense for people to read the bits you're replying to, before they read your replies to them -- just like an ordinary conversation. This matters particularly if you're replying to several different bits of a message. It also encourages people to snip the bits which they're not replying to, rather than leaving an ever-expanding `Original Message:' section underneath. (Unfortunately, quite a few of the regulars in this group still don't do this. Here's looking at you, Krogg.)
