Meh, they're not all that different than pickup trucks, in fact most of them use the same frame, engine, and front end (IE Chevy Blazer = Chevy S-10 with a back seat instead of a bed). I never see anyone bitching about pickup trucks. How about those giant commuter buses and 18 wheeler trucks belching black noxious diesel smoke? Nope, nobody whines about them either. People hate SUVs because the media tells them to. Here's my top 5 reasons why "Jesus wouldn't drive an SUV" is one of the stupidest fucking things I've ever heard. 1) I'm an atheist, but I have read the bible in its entirety. Never once in any of the scriptures did Jesus mention his concern about a fuel shortage. 2) Jesus would not drive, he would /be driven/. 3) What kind of vehicle would fit 12 disciples and all of their assorted gear? I'll give you a hint, it's certainly not a Honda Civic. 4) Jesus spent most of his life in countries that are primarily desert. For that kind of rough terrain, you need a 4 wheel drive vehicle with plenty of ground clearance and a motor with lots of torque. Again, a Honda Civic does not meet this criteria. 5) According to revelations, when Jesus comes back armageddon will begin and the world will effectively end. Why the hell would he care about air pollution or global warming if the planet will be completely destroyed shortly after he gets here? The seas boiling sounds just a little bit more extreme than a little melting at the north pole, don't you think? -- "Patriotism is supporting your country all the time and your government when it deserves it." --Mark Twain
