<PRE> means preformatted .. text enclosed in <PRE></PRE> tags should not
be formatted differently by the browser and should be displayed in a
fixed-width font.

Still .. not all browsers behave nicely.

I would also suggest enclosing the text in <TT>
<TT> means teletype and the combination of <PRE> and <TT> like this :
<PRE><TT> Look no haaa a a a a  a   a    a      n         d         s
</TT><PRE>
.. should result in all browsers obeying and rendering the text as you
wrote it.
