Re: test
(This message is being posted in HTML and ASCII text)
HTML is awesome! But, there are several problems when posting to newsgroups:
a.. Not all readers interpret HTML
b.. Many people post using ugly HTML
c.. It makes the default reply format HTML
d.. It screws up ASCII-art.
Taking point 4 into consideration, I don't think that you should use it here. In fact, don't use it anywhere on Usenet, except when one or more of the following conditions are present.
a.. The person that you are replying to posted in HTML.
a.. (Here it is sometimes advisable to post in both formats)
b.. You know that most ( > 85% ) of the people in the newsgroup have HTML-enabled newsreaders.
Anyway, most effects that can be done in HTML can be done in ASCII-text too.
