I consider myself to be a "classic liberal" in that I believe that freedom is not free and requires constant vigilance by any society that wishes to remain free. Liberty is limited only by the amount of freedom your society chooses to oppress - the less oppression one has the greater their Liberty. As a classic liberal, I believe in the pursuit of the maximum amount of Liberty for all peoples of the world. That said, I'd also like to add that It pains me to see so many people rallying against the institution of Democratic Governments in places that have seen only dictators that have ruthlessly oppressed the people of their society to the point that they dared not protest against its rule. It is my opinion that only through a democratic form of government can a society achieve adequate liberty for its people... that and a complete ban on any form of Nanny Stateism. >That's my opinion. > >The only thing worse than having an opinion, is having the gall to >believe your opinion is right. As my optometrist used to say - "Opinions are like assholes - everyone's got one". ;) ObAscii - the all seeing d'ohnut hole _ . - = - . _ .
