Usually I use the English rather than American spelling as well.
(Spelling colour as "color" in Html documents still comes as a shock.)

Did you see my post in which I checked in the Oxford Dictionary?

I think you'll have to agree that a dictionary doesn't get more English
than the Oxford.

(Or maybe you are a Cambridge Man and refuse to condone anything coming
out of Oxford.... )
