|up so ascii art would really not be freaked out and squished. So I 
|borrowed "HTML Manual of Style". The index is very bad for the beginner 
|but I just searched thru the whole book and found the format tag <TT>!!

Why can't you just include your ASCII pic as a text file and not as html fle?
Just type
