If he had made it himself I would not have called it ugly, but he
didn't, he took a gif image and pushed it through a gif-to-ascii
converter and then presented it as his own "drawing". When you use such
a converter the result often sucks and needs lots of work before you can
even see what it's supposed to be (I showed Kangaroo's picture to some
friends, but I hid the part where it said who it was. The name of the
second picture in that post showed at the bottom and my friends thought
that the picture was of John Lennon, not Princess Diana. It didn't occur
to them that that could be wrong...)

There is no WORK behind it! It took a few seconds (most of which were
spent waiting for the background image of that converter site to
download into my browser). Try it yourself and see how easy it is! (you
will get the same result - WOW! you have exactly the same "style" as me!
Does that mean we are really twins separated at birth? No, it means it
wasn't WE who did it...)


Those converters are useful as sketching tools, but the "raw" result
from them most often don't deserve being called "drawings", they often
need a lot of work before they start to look good (or even before they
start to look like anything).

I have never "slammed" a new person for his/her efforts. Sometimes
people have technical difficulties such as using an inappropriate font
or using tabs in a picture but that is a different issue (and I don't
"slam" that either, I try to help those people to post so that the
pictures show up the way they intended).
