text flowing

Whenever I copy and paste, and sometimes quote, several sources of text
in my eMail software, the recipient of the message gets the body of text
in broken paragraphs. Would any of the experts here know of a technique
to use when pulling text out of one source and to another for the
finished message? I mean, this kind of thing occurs mostly everywhere
within usenet, and it doesn`t seem to be the settings on any one
particular reader. In other words, displaying ascii art in proportional
fonts because my default is to display all messages this way. However,
ascii art is not what I`m concerned about. I`m inquiring about paragraph
structure and how to get them to maintain their structure when quoted in
follow-up replies.

Web sites with information to this problem would be helpful, as well as
suggestions such as:

1. Don`t rely on the eMail software for quoting text

2. First use the MessageID number to send a reply

3. Next, highlight text from original message to quote and copy and paste it into Terminal or
some other text editing program

4. Save text in ascii format

5. Insert file as attachment

6. Send

Would that work?
