I fully realise that you were not being critical and I was in in no way offended but thought an explanation of my attitudes might be useful. I was only making the point that whilst I have nothing against listing URLs and Archive Sites, lists of that type are a pain to maintain and keep current because the Archive Site/Homepage Owners seldom let the List and FAQ Maintainers know of changes. Allen Mullen is quite diligent in maintaining his own Site and has definite views on FAQ contents. After posting the Bob Allison FAQ in the newsgroups for some months I got tired of private email from people telling me they could not access Sites listed in the FAQ and asking if I could sort it out...so I added the Disclaimers and mercifully the emails stopped. :-) The only persons really able to maintain and revise FAQs are the original authors...some do, some don't, and many simply lose interest and enthusiasm. The main point about the "New Ascii FAQ" is that it is written from the perspective that most people now use Windows 95, Netscape and other sophisticated Web-Browsers and News-Readers with all sorts of Colours, Bells & Whistles and other Gizmos...instead of the old Text Editors with Non-proportional Fonts used by the "Early Neanderthal Ascii Artists". Modern users naturally think they should be able to use ALL the Gizmos in Ascii Artwork and they get all frustrated and confused when the hi-tech expensive Gizmos don't work in the pictures they produce. Bye,
