I don't know whether this was mentioned before, but Red Dog is a brand
of beer, and in the TV commercials for the beer, their 'mascot' is a
red bulldog. "OOH AAH! RED DOG!" is the jingle from the commercial,
and "YOU ARE YOUR OWN DOG!", or something to that effect, is the
slogan. I don't know whether that comes from a song or poem or
something, but several commercials were made using that red dog,
basically suggesting that nothing bothers him, he's cooler than the
Fonz, and that he marches to the beat of a different drummer. I never
see how that relates to beer, but later they made a commercial in which
they made it clear that the DOG is red, not the beer. Looking at what
I just wrote, it makes me think that I watch WAY too much TV.

(|-|) <- is this a good bulldog? I just doodled it while I was
proofreading my message. My only other experience in ASCII
art is that UN logo which nobody seems to care about...
