  We fully intend to flame you for our amusement over the coming few

It may be a troll but it could in fact be a proposed newsgroup
destruction attack which get launched from certain alt.* newsgroups.

If that happens the best defence is for all readers here would be:

 - to strictly avoid responding to such postings;

 - keep copies of full messages and the full messags headers and
   forward them to abu...@isp.wherever-applies;

 - alert the "news.admin.net-abuse.sightings" newsgroup (setting
   followups to "news.admin.net-abuse.usenet") with example
   messages/headers and ask their advice...then follow it.

 - email your own ISP with a sample message and full headers and
   ask for their help and advice.

There are other some things the alt.ascii-art readership can do if
something nasty actually develops here. Meanwhile use anti-troll
measures...mainly...strictly ignore and do not be tempted to respond!
