Have you ever tried to get someone who's never used a mouse before to use one? They try to use it in many ways: Some try to use it as a "light pen" by "pointing" it at the screen and pressing buttons in the hope that something happens. Some use it as a pedal (go figure). Other tend to misorientate the mouse and wonder why things don't work. *Then* when they finally get it right, they still haven't learned the art of picking the mouse up from the edge they've reached with it an placing it back in the middle of the mat for further movement. They tend to move for inches of table space off of the mouse mat. And if you've got an optical mouse... :) Oops no ascii...
