: Sarah and GooFY seem to like him. Of course, there are also people

Not as surprising as it may seem. PC is in some positive ways different
from your average troll - he's for example on topic most of the time,
actually sometimes producing signal instead of just noise. Even his
'stein cartoons can occasionally be rather funny indeed, at least when
he isn't trying to make insults through them. (Really, Pete, as an
artist you should know that forcing a point like that with no subtlety
at all ruins any humor or deeper meaning that might be present.)
Myself, I'm not so much annoyed as I'm tired of him and the whole
flamewar going on around him. If I could only sort out the actual,
non-flame cartoons from everything else he posts, I'd read them. As it
stands, I can keep up with this newsgroup a lot better with PC in my
killfile, but this will change if he ever does let the flames die away
and - as he says he wants to - just posts his cartoons in peace.
As for Sarah and some others, I have to wonder how eager many people
are to push those trying to stand in the middle ground to either side.
From what I've read of her posts, she seems to have made her own
opinions on this debate instead of joining the crowds, as have I, Joan,
and I dare say most of those posting actual arguments instead of just
flames. (Other may have too, but how could I tell?) While hers may be
different from mine, they seem completely reasonable if only one
accepts that there are shades of gray between unconditional love and
hate, even for Pete Casso.
ObAscii: Quite a while ago someone in a BBS said something to the
effect of "So I made a typo. Shoot me." I accepted the request with
one of my first published ascii pictures. :-)

Just goes to show that it's often a good idea not to take things that
seriously, even if they seem to be (and possibly are) serious enough.
Think twice before following up whether stating your opinion really is
worth contributing to the noise in the NG, and think twice again
before posting it. And keep a smile on your face. ;-)
