I am told that a few good ones are 3-D Studio Max and Lightwave. There's a great site that I came across a few months ago called: http://www.scifi-art.com They have specific tips on different aspects of modelling starships on the computer. Just look around for them. As for an LCARS interface...you'll probably need Java experience for that, unless you have software that can do *really* good animated GIFs. I'm assuming that you want a "Voyager"-style LCARS. ****** ________________________ * * | | ****** | Banner Ad | * * | | * * ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ * * ******************************** ******************************** * * * * ****** Welcome to my Website! * * ****** * * ****** *View my ships * * *About me ****** *LINKS * * ****** * * (C)COPYWRIGHT Kevin Brideau - 2000 ****** I hope that conforms to your vision. About a year ago, I thought about building a site that was based on Voy's style. I even watched "Equinox" on slow-motion to catch the specific movements of the grafic. For instance, I noted that when the square of light travels up the bar it doesn't just go RED, WHITE, and RED again. I actually goes RED, *ORANGE-RED*, WHITE, RED. (You'd know what I'm talking about if you watch the scene in Equinox where the Doc transports to Equinox's sickbay and learns that they've been usiing the Aliens for fuel.-man, I really have to get a life) Of course, you could mean a "traditional" Next-Generation LCARS panal. For those, look at the way the following sites have been designed: http://www.bravofleet.com http://www.ditl.org http://www.startrek.com Hmmm...looking over my LCARS thing, I have to admit it doesn't look that half-bad. I'll post it to alt.ascii-art to see what they think. :) Good Luck -KMB -- // ////// ////// ===================================================//=====//=======// // ==================================================//=====//=======// // // ////// ////// //
