The sail even has a small Jave logo on it.

I like the 0.9 beta.
The features I desire the most in the next version are good circles, the
"plastic bag trick" and perhaps dithering.
Jep .. I came up with a new idea ..

Dithering:
For fills , gradient , lines , elipses and squares it would be nice if every
other or every third (.. or fouth .. and so on) could be a blank or a
userdefinable char in order to make dotted lines and faint "colouring"

For gradients you could also have the function mix chars from the previous
"colour/shade" into the current "colour"

And the ability to define your own patterns for the gradient could be nice :

Or easily make effects like I did with the sun where the shade quickly wears
off and just leave a few sunrays further out.

Other ideas :

Ability to rotate your elipses (possibly by holding down a button while
drawing it .. can anyone remember how Deluxe Paint used to do this ?)
Ability to change the center of drawing for elipses (by holding down a button
?) to be like when drawing a square.

Different mousepointer when outside the drawing area .. its hard to see where
your "+" pointer is when it's in the grey
A "quick" button to set Java into notepad/Textpad mode.. where it would
perform just like a normal texteditor .. possibly with the same style of
selection as Jave has
I miss the feel that Textpad (with block select mode on) has .. Textpad is
still my favourite asciieditor.
Possibly the numlock key or the scroll lock key would be useful since they
indicate on/off state with a light.
Caps lock for obvious reasons would not be useable.
