I wonder if you or anyone has tried using
"COPY CON:" for ASCII drawing? I tried it just
now and I like it, it forces working from a drawing
though, but is more relaxing for me.
Anyone knot knowing what it is can try, from
the DOS prompt

C>copy con:firsttry.txt
........
........
........
........
^Z

And that creates the file. I wouldn't start
out with a very wide drawing, I don't know if there
is a limit to the number of characters allowed.
The problem, and the challenge is that there
is no way to make changes other than backspace. :-)
