Ah, but why did this man without shoes stop crying?

Was it

a) Because he saw that there was someone worse off than he.

b) Because the man with no feet gave him some shoes because he didn't need
them anymore (on account of having no feet to wear them upon).

c) Because the man with no feet was a shoe salesman and was hence able to
fulfill the shoeless man's shoe requirement

d) Because he was able to mug the man with no feet and steal all his money?

The public demands to know!
