But butterflies and engines > do not blow my mind. The butterflies aren't ment to blow minds. One does not blow minds by taking vibrant creatures and reducing them to ascii and removing all of there colors. I do the butterflies because it is a challange to do one and get it as acurate as possible givin the low bit nature of ascii art. The mind blowing part comes latter when I finish the searies and There are over one hundred of them together. When all the parts become a collection. One large ascii project. Part of the trick is to maintain the same "style" over the course of the year(s) that it will take to finish these. Even if I want to play around with one and do it in a more stylized manor I can't. The /idea/ of the colection would be damaged by that. Now with the pr0n I can do the same drawing 3 different ways in any style I want and throw caution to the wind. I can do part of a girl or the whole girl or add a tail or some wings or do whatever I like. The only rule I have there is that the vast majority of them should be no wider than 72 chars. Which is very limiting in that it means that most of them ar standing since forshortening something as recognizable as the human form without messing it up just isn't easy in ascii. If one limb is a little short or a little wide or a little long or anything outside of perfect perportion then the brain says "something is wrong" and the art is ruined. So I have to be a touch picky but I am a lot more free with that then the butterflies. And I often have my mind blown because of lgbeard's industrial works. They are about as unbutterfly as things can be so while I am posting very organic items and he is posting very geometric ones. Makes for a nice contrast. > The abstrASCII's are meant to be ASCII-art in a punk-mode. Simple. Do it > yourself. Have a go. Post it. And see what happens. I liked the number orented one that ws posted. Can't remember if it was a prime or PI but it was good. These more recent ones haven't done a whole lot for me. > (diddling allowed) I like diddling. It has been a long time since someone diddled one of my works though.
