That's the functionality I was referring to. You don't want to (shouldn't)
clear the entire screen (unless the clock will be hovering like a
screensaver clock, you didn't say). My qb code only changes the digit that
actually changed in the array, then prints only the time again. Oh well, I
tried helping.

Sorry, I didn't know you don't have any BASIC experience, or that Bash was
for Linux. If you know someone who does, maybe they could translate it into
Bash for you, then you study the digit update routine. I didn't bother with
any code to read the clock face or digits from a file, because I was just
showing the seconds update functionality. Frankly, I thought you had the
program working and was just looking to spruce it up.
