This one started out as a doodle that later became the last frame. It was
actually the same doodle that had earlier spawned the hideous Java bug. It was
basically just a regular guy that slouched and had a funny looking head shape. I
gave him glasses and thought, "Hey, that looks like Nerd Boy." As I'm writing
this, I realise that this is probably not the best writing process. However, I
then recall that the renowned creator of Bob the Angry Flower, Stephen Notley
(from which I have received e-mail! "Well, I must confess, I'm not exactly the
biggest ASCII cartoon fan in the universe, but it looks like you got something
going there. Robots and chicks are always cool, and there's always more to say
about 'em."), exercises the exact same process.

Now go back and read NB's first line in the previous strip: "Sure looks that
way." I swear, I must be some kind of genius or something, because I didn't plan
that. I mean, I had planned the ending of the story arc (there's a first), but I
hadn't meant NB's line to be a little subtle clue like that. Go figure.
