No, you did not... however you DID falsely represent
the ASCII picture(s) as being made by someone else.  
 You've done this on many ASCII pictures-- and NOT by accident.

Being common-place does not make it right.
Usually when pictures are posted with incorrect
credits, it is by someone who does it by accident 
or does it infrequently.  Or by someone who just
doesn't know any better.    Their actions are usually
corrected after being shown the error of their ways.

This is not your case.  You are making a game of this--
intentionally infringing upon internet copyright laws.
This is not accidental.  It is not infrequent.   You are 
also encouraging others to do the same.   You ought
to know better.   This trolling of the newsgroup is
net abuse--  people can lose their ISP account for
such things.
