A truism that he doesn't think? No, that seems pure flame to me. Also, I didn't overlook -- you didn't quote anything and I didn't receive his posts.

So point out he is flaming. If he continues flaming you while you just point out the flaws in his arguement, he loses [respect] and you gain the same.

I have this habit of pressing the "ignore thread" key when a thread degrades to flaming. I don't really care if you two stop, because I still have that key and don't have to read it. I've just been seeing too much of this lately on this and another NG I'm on, and wanted to point it out. I don't think there has to be flaming on this NG at all and that's just about it.
